Catholic confession help?

i'm a cradle Catholic, but i left the Church for 8 years to live like a pagan. now i returned over a year ago and have already gone to confession, but my question is this. are there any parishes or cathedrals that are always open and have a priest or bishop to take your confession whenever, like in the films? i would see it so often when i was away from the Church and since my return, i only see churches taking confession on a saturday for the span of an hour, some requiring an appointment. i understand a lot of priests are busy but sometimes that can be inconvenient. any thoughts or answers?
