Writing a book at 13... too young?

I've been told -by teachers, family, and random people who find the pages at school- that I have a great ability to provide description, and a variety of other literary effects. Ami I too young? A serious answer, not any of that "13 yo writing a book? get a firm hold on reality, ppl!" crap I've read.
